First team players have missed over 120 games through injury this season
|
That is an average of 4-5 players missing for every single league game.
Here's the list of games missed
Song - 13 games Lanzini - 13 games Payet - 7 games Moses - 7 games Reid - 9 games Ogbonna - 5 games Carroll - 12 games Valencia - 15 games Sakho - 17 games O'Brien - 24 games
Total lost - 122 games
It just shows how great a job Bilic has done coping with that this season.

Also shows how great it is to have a captain leading from the front and not bottling games like some others.

How does that compare with other clubs? I know, as of a month ago, we were seventh overall.

Did we, or did we not, switch our training ground in an effort to reduce this ridiculous problem?

How many of our players have played every league game?
Am sure they said at the weekend that Ranieri had picked the same team for the last 6 games. Obviously the two week break will give him time to decide what to do about replacing Simpson for the next game.

They moved to rush green and then moved back to Chadwell Heath as they've started redeveloping it. Still, While the move to the Rush Green site is welcome, the site itself will remain inferior in terms of both size and facilities compared to many other clubs (29 acres compared to 70 acres at Tottenham, 143 acres at Arsenal and 152 acres at Chelsea and lacking in facilities such as a full indoor pitch, for example). I'm going to be asking at the next sab if there are tentative plans to expand the site, most obviously by buying out crowlands golf club next door.

This sadly makes me feel better, but not by much.
Bilic is a decent manager and I think his character plays a great part too, top bloke.

I think we were seventh overall, but if you are just counting first team players then we've gotta be up there with the worst hit teams

First of all, these are not all 'first team players'.
Only Lanzini, Payet, Reid and Sakho are unequivocally 1st XI players on that list.
Secondly, injuries to key players are part of the game and affect all clubs. You have to have a squad deep enough to cope with it if you want a decent season.
This is the first season I can remember in a very long time where our '2nd XI' has been generally good enough to step up and do a decent job when key players are out. It helps explain why we are doing so well.
Third, we are not an exceptional case. Liverpool have been without Sturridge - by a mile their best player - for most of the season. City have been without Kompany for much of the season and also Aguero for several games. Arsenal have also had key players out. Everybody has the same problem.

I know we started the season early this year... but playing 120 games is rediculous. No wonder we've got injuries.......

Liverpool Newcastle Bournemouth Man Utd Man City Tottenham Arsenal
All above us in this particular table, as far as I can tell. Conclusions - it has precisely fuck all to do with training facilities, and we aren't especially unlucky.
